Moldovan president summons operative meeting on situation in ensuring aviation security

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today summoned an operative meeting with decision-makers of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Interior Ministry (MAI), Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), Civil Aviation Authority, MoldATSA company, Chisinau International Airport, given more incidents which have lately taken place in the civil aviation sector, the presidential press service has reported.
Decision-takers reported about the present situation in the field of ensuring the aviation security, as well as the problems faced by the concerned process. The sides also considered a dangerous incident which took place with the involvement of an airship of the Fly One air company on the Chisinau International Airport on 30 September 2019.
Proceeding from the fact that such incidents have a negative impact on passengers’ safety, the head of state instructed the carrying out of an inter-institutional control, in order to work out a plan of efficient measures to avoid similar situations in the long run, with the attraction of international experts, if necessary.
The Moldovan president also asked the secretary of the Supreme Security Council (CSS) to take under strict control the actions which will be undertaken in the field of ensuring the aviation security, with making periodical reports to the CSS members.
