Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - Firemen from the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri have lately managed to prevent two fires, as a result of the activation of smoke detectors, set within the campaign, A house protected - a life rescued, according to the media from the autonomy.
The head of the regional department for emergency situations, Vitali Dede, has said that the aforementioned campaign was implemented in all settlements from the Gagauz autonomy, with the disadvantaged families being a priority.
„Four settlements have not bought the needed equipment as yet. We sent the necessary demands to the local authorities, so that they find the needed means to buy the equipment. Till then, we have purchased detectors from sources of the autonomy’s executive body for some households,” Vitali Dede told the website www.gagauzinfo.md.
So far, 1,057 smoke detectors have been set in the Gagauz autonomy, in 560 blocks of flats and houses. The process continues, with the citizens from the risk groups having priority in setting the detectors.
The programme, A house protected - a life rescued, was launched in the spring of 2018, at an initiative by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
