Rescheduling of vacation more convenient for Moldovan tourism agencies, tourists

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - A tourism agency urges its beneficiaries to renegotiate the vacation already scheduled for March and April; this would be valid for all tourist companies.  

According to a representative of the tourism industry, the Moldovan citizens who scheduled their vacation for March and April will not be able to recover all money paid in advance; yet, they can reschedule their vacation after the period of COVID-19 infection crisis is over.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of a tourism agency from Moldova, Irina Cearskaia, said that ‘’the tourists who have already made payments in advance for a vacation in March or April, can reschedule the date of vacation – this is much easier than the full recovery of the sum paid in advance. ’’  

According to Cearskaia, tourists should understand that the money for the reservation of an air travel cannot be recovered. The air companies do not return the money; they suggest only the change of the calendar date.

„I urge the tourists who have already made bookings, not to cancel their vacation. The most convenient thing is its rescheduling, both for the tourism agencies and tourists,’’ the tourism manager said.    

Data by the National Statistics Bureau shows that 310,600 tourists and excursionists went abroad through Moldovan tourism agencies and tourism operators in 2019. Most of them went on purposes of leisure, recreation and entertainment. Moldova’s citizens preferred to travel mainly to Turkey (31.7 per cent), Bulgaria (27.6 per cent), Romania (13.5 per cent).
