Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/- The access of the elderly in public spaces without strict necessity will be prohibited. Only business trips, visits to the doctor and shop will be allowed. The authorities ask the elderly, who are most at risk of infection, not to leave the home, and soon they will come up with support measures. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement at the end of the Emergencies Commission meeting.

The premier said that it was decided that the pensions should be delivered to the elderly at home by postal workers, and the cardholders will receive money through them. "We will involve all structures, including local ones, to ensure the elderly with the necessary ones," said Chicu.

He noted that to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the commission today adopted 40 new restrictive measures and announced that it will involve soldiers who will oversee the enforcement of the authorities' decisions.
