Moldovan diplomacy head has phone conversation with Swedish counterpart

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea today had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of Sweden Ann Linde, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The two ministers discussed the present situation in the two countries, triggered by coronavirus, the importance of cooperation and implementing of new joint measures for the management of the crisis and counteracting the bad effects of the pandemic, providing of mutual assistance and solving problems faced by Moldovan and Swedish citizens, given the restriction of the international movement.
At the same time, the officials tackled aspects on the boosting of the bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors, including through continuing and extending Swedish assistance projects, as well as technical and financial support in priority fields for Moldova, such as the development of the market economy, human rights and rule of law state, reducing the climate changes, etc.
At the meeting, Minister Tulea reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ commitment in the implementation of the complex process of domestic reforms, especially in the justice sector, relations with mass media and civil society and voiced confidence in the fostering of the Moldova-EU dialogue. For his park, Ann Linde reconfirmed her country’s openness to further back Moldova in efforts of European integration.
