Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today chaired a meeting of the Single Command Centre for the management of the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus, during which more subjects were tackled.

According to the presidential press service, the participants in the meeting unveiled new information about the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Moldova. Thus, in the last 24 hours, 55 new cases of infection with coronavirus have been recorded, of which 7 persons infected came from abroad (1 from Austria and 6 from the United Kingdom); the other 48 cases are of local transmission.

Igor Dodon informed that today he had summoned the leadership of more ministries, in order to see the situation as to the supply of hospitals and medical staff with essential goods in the fight against COVID-19.

Also, the Moldovan president pointed out an important decision announced today – the holders of licence for trade, standing at 8,000 at present, during the ceasing of their work, should not pay for the licence and the latter’s validity term will be extended.

Another important subject discussed was the return of Moldovan citizens from abroad. In this respect, the head of state said that all decisions on the Diaspora, especially the organization of charter flights, were taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations, taking into account the ensuring of the security and health of Moldova’s citizens and the list should compiled by the Moldovan Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry. At the same time, Igor Dodon came up with a call to the people from abroad, who want to return home, to inform themselves from official sources about the concerned flights, in order not to get into a trap of quacks, speculators or even politicians, who try to make shows or business on this subject.
