Moldova to resume negotiations with Russia for agreement on 200-million-euros-worth loan

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today said that the negotiations with Russia for the agreement on crediting worth 200 million euros would be resumed.
After a today’s meeting with the Moldovan president and parliament speaker, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that, this week, the cabinet would resume the talks with Russia, in order sign an agreement on crediting amounting to 200 million euros. The PM made statements to this effect after the government had re-started these negotiations on 31 July.
We remind that, at a notification of the lawmakers of the parliament’s opposition, the Constitutional Court described as illegal the agreement signed by Moldova and Russia on the borrowing of the 200-million-euros-worth loan.
The sides agreed on the renegotiation of the contract on credit, following an agreement reached by President Igor Dodon and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
