Specialists warn about quality of food products for winter holidays' feasts in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) comes up with more useful pieces of advice for consumers, to avoid unpleasant situations and health problems, ahead of the winter holidays, which are usually marked by festive dinners.
Thus, ANSA recommends that the food products be purchased only in specially arranged and authorized places – shops, wholesale warehouses, agro-food markets, which ensure the specific hygienic and sanitary conditions and where there is certainty that these products were subjected to sanitary and veterinary control.
According to Agency’s specialists, the fresh meat must be bought only in authorized places: butcher’s shops, food stores, specially arranged places in markets. ‘’Pay attention to the sanitary and veterinary control stamp,’’ ANSA said.
“When buying food products, read attentively the information on the product’s label, date of fabrication, validity terms; verify the ingredients used, conditions of preservation,’’ warn experts of the National Food Safety Agency.
For their part, physicians warn that ‘’to remove the risks of appearance of food poisonings, food products must not be purchased after the expiration of their validity term and the products should be deposited and preserved according to producers’ instructions, by taking into account the rules as to the congealing, de-congealing and cooking dishes.’’
