Moldovan police to boost actions on observance of restrictions of preventing COVID-19 virus

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen will patrol again in the neighbourhood of commercial markets and public access places, leisure areas, stations and bus terminals and will intervene by asking citizens to observe the protection measures and the public transport drivers to limit the number of people, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The decision was taken, after the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) had ruled to extend the emergency state in the public health sector till 15 April.
According to the police, on the next period, decision-makers will supervise also the work of the economic agents and will intervene with imposing fines, if the restriction measures are not observed.
The police also said that, since early 2021, it had drawn up 3,522 official reports and the fines imposed amount to over four million lei.
CNESP ruled to prolong the emergency state in the public health sector till 15 April 2021. Thus, starting from 17 February 2021, the commercial centres will cease working nationally on Saturdays and Sundays. Also, the work of commercial markets is restricted on the period 17 February – 1 March 2021, which will work only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, except for the agricultural markets.
