As many as 965 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 3,252 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 965 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. As many as 171,514 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 48 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –23, medical assistants –21and auxiliary staff -4.

As many as 3,160 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 282 are in extremely serious condition (55 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,092 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 15,176 are under supervision at home.

Another 614 people have been treated. As many as 158,619 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 17 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,678 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed two physicians from Chisinau. Thus, 83 medical employees have died because of coronavirus till present.
