Moldova likely to get 15 million euros from EU

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu said today that she has signed the Decree for initiating negotiations and approving the signing of the financing agreement between Moldova and the European Commission on financial assistance from the European Union intended to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
The decree was signed as a result of discussions in Brussels. "The agreement provides for a donation of 15 million euros, aid to overcome the health and economic crisis. I signed this decree to make it possible to provide funding for Moldova given lack of a government with full powers. We will closely monitor the allocation of these funds. I thank the European Union for continued support of our citizens," Sandu said.
On 18-19 January, the Moldovan president paid a working visit to Brussels. Maia Sandu held meetings with many European officials, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
