As many as 1,340 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 4,079 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,340 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. As many as 174,155 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 55 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –9, medical assistants –36 and auxiliary staff -10.

As many as 3,226 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 285 are in extremely serious condition (49 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,383 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 15,622 are under supervision at home.

Another 592 people have been treated. As many as 159,931 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 20 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,717 people have died of coronavirus in all.
