Moldovan apples producers has online meeting with potential buyers from other states

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/ - Apples producers of the Moldova Fruct Association of Producers and Exporters today participated in a pilot activity of online meeting with potential buyers from Germany, Belgium, Ukraine and other states.  

The event was organized by Moldova Fruct, with the support of the High Value Agricultural Activity in Moldova (HVAA) project, backed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).    

Producers presented their supply of apples, orchards and facilities they have, with the help of virtual tours worked out in 2020. For their part, eventual buyers displayed interest in plums, sweet cherries and apricots.  

„The today’s discussion will allow producers to better prepare for the new season, know the buyer’s requirements and adjust to the foreign market’s standards,’’ a marketing specialist within HVAA, Tatiana Burca, said.   

The USAID’s HVAA project on the period 2016-2021 was set to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector, in order to boost the economic growth and the changes in the rural settlements, improving the well-being of the Moldovan citizens. To achieve this goal, the HVAA project, along with agricultural entrepreneurs, association of users of water for irrigation and other partners, contribute to the enhancement of the profitableness of each hectare of farmland, improving the quality and productivity of products cultivated, increasing the sales on the local and international markets and encouraging partners in the farming sector.
