Moldovan cinema operator passed away

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/- Director and cinema operator Vlad Ciurea, professor, Emeritus Master of Art, laureate of the National Prize, passed away yesterday at the age of 80.
Vlad Ciurea was born on 20 January 1941 in Chisinau. In 1961-1964, he studied at the Faculty of Operators of the Union Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow. He worked as an operator at the Kazakh-film Studio (1964-1965). In 1966-1998, he was a lighting operator, then an image assistant at the Moldova-Film Studio. In 1998, he was an image operator at the Catalan Television Studio. He also collaborated with the National Television.
He was a professor at the International Film Academy, then at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau. He collaborated with directors: Emil Loteanu, Vasile Pascaru, Alexandru Conunov, Valeriu Gagiu, Gheorghe Vodă, etc.
In 1979, Vlad Ciurea was awarded the honorary title Master of Art. In 1981, he was awarded the National Prize.
