Moldovan parliament speaker discusses with Venice Commission's rapporteurs

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today had a meeting in videoconference format with the rapporteurs of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), the parliament communication and public relations general department has reported.
Attending the meeting were the head of the parliament’s juridical commission for rules and immunities, Vasile Bolea, as well as Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi in online regime.
Rapporteurs Lydie Err (on behalf of Luxembourg), Johan Hirschfeldt (alternate member on behalf of Sweden), Jørgen Steen Sørensen (member on behalf of Denmark) and Igli Totozani – expert (Albania) participated in the meeting on behalf of the Venice Commission.
The subject of the discussions was the draft law on the ombudsman for the rights of entrepreneurs, on which the Moldovan side requested the opinion of the Venice Commission.
Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii thanked the rapporteurs for the efficient dialogue, stressing that the Venice Commission’s expertise was extremely useful for Moldova in its efforts to edify a rule of law state with a fully functional justice.
