Moldovan acting PM has meeting with Romanian foreign affairs minister

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, at a today’s meeting at the government, offered thanks to his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu for the humanitarian assistance worth 2.3 million euros, provided by the government of Romania in the process of combating the COVID-19 pandemic, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the context, the officials coordinated the continuing of the bilateral consultations on the legal and technical aspects dealing with the reception of the consignment of 200,000 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine on behalf of the Romanian government.
The sides spoke out for speeding up the discussions, to sign the sixth additional protocol to the agreement on the implementation of the Technical and Financial Assistance Programme, based on a non-refundable assistance amounting to 100 million euros provided by Romania to Moldova, in conditions when a great deal of the assistance has not been turned to account so far.
At the same time, the officials stressed the need of advancing negotiations for signing more bilateral agreements under consideration, focused on the improvement of the bilateral legal framework.
Also, the ministers tackled the subject on the signing of a bilateral agreement on the removal of the tariffs for the roaming services between Romania and Moldova. Among the goals set, there is the boosting of cooperation in the environmental protection and energy security sectors.
