Moldovan president meets representatives of Moldova's Writers' Union

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, along with the presidential adviser for culture sector, Angela Brasoveanu-Erizanu, today afternoon had a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan Writers’ Union (USM), the presidential press service has reported.
„I thanked the USM head Mr. Arcadie Suceveanu, and the organization’s deputy head, Teo Chiriac, for the effort to create and promote books, as essential pillars in the edification of the new generations. I assured my interlocutors that the presidential institution wants a good cooperation with the creative people from various sectors that we will get involved, as far as possible, in the activities initiated by them,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The participants in the meeting tackled the problems faced by the writers, such as the lack of an autonomous headquarters for the National Literature Museum. ‘’I said, on this occasion, that we hope that the problem will be solved as soon as possible, as a result of the approaches made by the Presidency,’’ the head of state said.
Maia Sandu encouraged the writers to initiate projects due to back the translation of books abroad, as an element of promoting the national culture.
