Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - A new intensive therapy section, with 14 places, will be created at the Holy Trinity hospital from the Moldovan capital. Presently, capital repair works are carried out in the room envisaged, for which about six million lei was allocated from sources of the Chisinau municipal budget.
According to the Chisinau city hall, the need to create this unit for the municipal medical system appeared with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the medical institution, besides the highly qualitative services providing to patients, also treats 250 patients infected with coronavirus.
The new intensive therapy section will be provided with all connections and standards necessary for the concerned profile: oxygen, ventilation, vacuum, etc.
Till the pandemic, the hospital had 18 intensive therapy places. Now, there are 54 beds, some of which are in adapted rooms.
Financial sources worth 10 million lei were earmarked on behalf of the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry and foreign partners for the medical equipment and devices (monitors, ventilators, anaesthesia machines, multifunctional beds, etc.), a part of which has been already purchased.
The works of capital repair of the new intensive therapy section of the Holy Trinity municipal clinical hospital started in December 2020 and will last till next April.
