Former head of Teleradio-Moldova Company passes away

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The eldest head of the Teleradio-Moldova Company, Stefan Lozan, has passed away at the age of 93 years.
The Teleradio-Moldova Company made statements to this effect.
Stefan Lozan was president of the Teleradio-Moldova Company on the period 1967-1989. At that time, the institution was called the State Committee for Radio and Television of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic, subordinated to the Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting from Moscow.
According to a press release by the Teleradio-Moldova Company, during the 22 years at the head of the institution, Stefan Lozan created the first national radio and television programmes, the Telefilm-Chisinau Studio, which produced more than 400 feature films, documentaries, musicals, cartoons. Lozan’s contribution to the development of the national radio and television was also manifested through the creation of local radio studios.
Stefan Lozan was born in the Carnateni village, eastern Causeni district, on 5 October 1927. After Lozan had ended his work at the Teleradio-Moldova Company, he worked as chief consultant at Moldova’s parliament (1994-1998). Stefan Lozan told his entire life and activity in a book titled, The Man of His Age.
