As many as 1,062 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 4,202 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,062 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which one import case. As many as 176,245 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 44 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 10, medical assistants –23 and auxiliary staff -11.

As many as 3,344 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 292 are in extremely serious condition (49 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,647 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 16,190 are under supervision at home.

Another 601 people have been treated. As many as 161,220 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 21 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,760 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed a 61-year-old surgeon who had worked at the Floresti District Hospital. Eighty six medial employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
