As many as 507 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 2,172 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 507 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which three import ones.  As many as 176,752 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.  

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 26 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 12, medical assistants –12 and auxiliary staff -2.

As many as 3,364 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 288 are in extremely serious condition (50 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,835 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 16,145 are under supervision at home.

Another 673 people have been treated. As many as 161,893 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 20 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,780 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed a 73-year-old physician who had worked at the Edinet District Hospital. Eighty seven medial employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
