Moldovan poet published book of poetry

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- A book of poems, Breaking the Clouds (”Rupere de nori”) by poet Marcela Benea has been recently published by a publishing house in Chisinau.
Marcela Benea said this is her sixth book. The volume has 96 pages and includes lyrics written in 2015-2018.
Marcela Benea was born on 4 June 1948 in Văratic, Rascani district. In 1972 she graduated from the State University of Moldova, Faculty of Philology. She was a teacher of Romanian language and literature (1972-1974), editor at the Cartea Moldovenească Publishing House (1975-1976), literary editor at the Chisinau Philharmonic (1976-1977) and senior editor at the State Committee for Television and Broadcasting ( 1977-1986). She made her debut in the weekly Cultura (1966). She has collaborated in the publications: Moldova, Nistru, Literatura şi Arta, Tinerimea Moldovei, Glasul Națiunii, Contrafort, Revista Română (Iași), Litere (Târgoviște), Hyperion (Botoșani), Beletra Almanaco (USA), Lichtungen (Vienna, Austria) and others.
In 2016, she was nominated by the Moldovan Writers' Union for the National Prize. In 2017, the Municipal Olympics in Chisinau on Romanian language and literature was dedicated to the creation of poet Marcela Benea. Marcela Benea's lyrics have been translated into Armenian, Bulgarian, English, French, Georgian, German, Latvian, Russian, Ukrainian, etc. In 1966, she was awarded the first prize at the Moscow Television Poetry Festival and in 2008 - the Prize of the Writers' Union of Moldova.
