As many as 655 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 1,879 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 655 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which one import case.  As many as 177,407 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.  

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 22 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 8, medical assistants –10 and auxiliary staff -4.

As many as 3,390 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 281 are in extremely serious condition (48 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 6,022 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 16,176 are under supervision at home.

Another 702 people have been treated. As many as 162,595 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 19 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,799 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed a laboratory assistant who had worked at the Oncological Institute. Eighty seven medial employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
