Three people went to hospital following explosion in block of flats in Botanica district

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- A woman and two minors, aged one and 10, arrived at the hospital for care following an explosion that took place tonight in a six-storey block of flats on 12/1 Independenței Street in Chisinau.

Four rescue crews were on the spot. IGSU employees noted that following the explosion, the windows and doors in the apartments on floors 1-5 were damaged in a common kitchen. The load-bearing walls were not affected.

Rescuers checked all the homes to see if any people were trapped under the rubble. No casualties were reported, and according to preliminary information, two minors and a woman suffered.

Currently, all authorized services are working on site. The cause and circumstances of the explosion are to be determined by specialists.
