As many as 1,610 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 4,783 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,610 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which three import ones. As many as 180,150 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 85 out of all cases are medical employees. 

As many as 3,465 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 291 are in extremely serious condition (51 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

Another 520 people have been treated and discharged from hospitals. As many as 163,896 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 23 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,846 people have died of coronavirus in all.

Also today, the MSMPS leadership informed that it had instructed the extending of the number of beds for COVID-19 patients in more municipal and district hospitals. Thus, after identifying the rooms available, the number of beds will be increased at the Dermatology and Communicable Diseases Hospital by another 25 units, by 30 ones at the Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital, by another 80 units at COVID-19 Chisinau Centre and by about 20 ones at the Ialoveni District Hospital, as well as at the Criuleni District Hospital.
