Moldovan education ministry presents instruction on holding of school Olympiads

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) today presented the instruction on the organization and holding of district/municipal/zonal school Olympiads in the 2020-2021 school year, in the COVID-19 epidemiological context.  

Under the document, the district/municipal Olympiads for the general education institutions and the zonal Olympiads for the vocational schools will be held as of 27 February 2019. The contests will take place at the headquarters of education institutions nominated by the local specialty bodies in the education sector and by the Education Ministry (in the case the zonal Olympiads meant for pupils from the vocational education institutions), as centres for the carrying out of written exams.   

„Decision-makers will ensure the disinfection and cleaning of rooms, contest halls, forms/tables, chairs with biocide products, airing/ventilation of contest halls both before and after the exams at each centre for holding the written examinations. At the same time, disinfectants will be place at the entrance in the centre for the holding of written exams and at the entrance into the contest halls. The wearing of face protection masks (covering the nose and mouth) is compulsory for all participants in the school Olympiad,’’ the MECC Instruction reads.      

The Education, Culture and Research Ministry relies on the responsibility of the staff involved in the organization of Olympiads and participants in the contest, in order to ensure the observance of all anti-COVID-19 protection norms.
