Balti high school energy efficient with EU support

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/- In Bălți, the works to increase the energy efficiency of Dimitrie Cantemir Theoretical High School, with the support of the European Union, are underway. As a result of energy efficiency measures, about 900 pupils and 80 teachers and support staff will benefit from improved education conditions and a comfortable study environment.
The specialists of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR) monitored yesterday the execution process of the works, with the participation of the representatives of the structures involved in the implementation of the project. As a result, it was agreed to coordinate technical issues, in particular with regard to the roof.
The works started in January and are to be completed by late 2021.
The total cost of the construction works within the project is estimated at 19.27 million lei, of which 132,680 lei represents the contribution of Bălți city hall.
The investment measure Increasing the energy efficiency of the Theoretical High School Dimitrie Cantemir in Balti, carried out by ADR Nord, is funded by the European Union in cooperation with the project Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova, implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and financially supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
