European Football Championship not to be postponed for another year

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/- European Football Championship, Euro 2020, will take place this year.

UEFA's medical adviser for Euro 2020 competition Daniel Koch said that in 2021 the European football championship will take place.

"There is no scenario for the worst case, there are realistic scenarios and scenarios for the best case," he said.

The European football forum will take a decision on suitability of stadiums, after consulting with the 12 host countries. He added that UEFA is considering the possibility of an increased number of fans if the pandemic situation allows it.

The football tournament should have taken place last year, but the coronavirus pandemic caused it to be rescheduled for 11 June - 11 July 2021.
