Moldova's National Integrity Authority to demand in court starting procedurers of confiscating MP's wealth

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Integrity Authority (ANI) today issued a damage and inspection report on a Moldovan lawmaker, as a result of a control of the personal wealth and interests, carried out for the period 2014-2019. ANI also informed that it would submit the cause to court for starting the procedure of confiscating the unjustified wealth.

According to ANI’s data, during the verifications made and the documents got, the integrity inspector found out the existence of a substantial difference, worth 600,000 lei, between the wealth acquired and the incomes got by an MP and his wife. As a result of the things found out, ANI will submit the cause to court for the starting of the procedure of confiscating this unjustified wealth.

The quoted source said that, if the act issued by ANI remains final, the lawmaker runs the risk of no longer holding a public office, including the MP mandate for a three-year period. At the same time, the lawmaker will be included in the ANI’s register of interdictions.
