Moldovan agriculture ministry launches first call for grants per animal

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM) has launched the first call for applications for direct payments per capita. Thus, on 1 April -4 June 2021, animal owners can submit payment applications to the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture.
According to the Regulation, approved by the government in November 2020, direct payments will be offered for three support measures.
Also, animals registered in zootechnical farms located outside the built-up area, females at least 12 months old, kept in a herd of at least ten heads of cows and heifers, 50 heads of sheep specialized in milk production, 30 heads of sheep specialized in meat production, 30 heads of goats are eligible for direct payment.
To be eligible for direct payments, animals must be insured under the Law on subsidized insurance of production risks in agriculture. All conditions producers have to meet are set out in the Regulation on granting direct payments per animal, says MADRM.
