Moldova's economic recovery debated with European experts

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/- The current state of the Moldovan economy, the sectors most affected by the pandemic crisis, forecasts and medium-term intervention priorities to help economic recovery - were some of the issues addressed yesterday at the EU Debates Cafe event, An investment plan and economic recovery for Moldova: needs, priorities, sources.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Lilia Palii reported on the set of measures to support business environment in the pandemic situation, macroeconomic forecast and long-term development vision in the context of the draft new strategy for a inclusive, sustainable and digital economy.
In this context, the goals for intervention policies were highlighted in the following dimensions: extensive and diversified economic opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, productive, innovative and competitive firms, more secure and well-paid jobs, low-growth economic growth, public utilities, better and more accessible living conditions for all, increased resilience to vulnerabilities, as well as increased institutional capacity.
European officials reported on the European Commission's intention to support an economic recovery plan for the Republic of Moldova in the context of the new Multiannual Indicative Program for 2021-2027.
