Moldova's Customs Service collects about 3.5 billion lei since early 2021

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - The collections of the Customs Service are estimated at about 3.5 billion lei in the first two months of this year, up by 4.5 per cent against the sum collected on the same period of 2020. In last February, the Customs Service collected about two billion lei in the state budget, which is by 5 per cent more against the same month of the year before.
According to the institution, in February this year, 41,418 customs declarations were processed and the flow of transport means represented 165,702 crossings. The most transited customs checkpoints were Leuseni and Sculeni, with 43,756 and, respectively, 28,013 crossings.
In last February, officers of the information line answered 2,213 requests for information on the customs activity.
Also, on the concerned period, 593 infringements of the customs legislation were recorded and 235 official reports were compiled on contravention and fines worth more than two million lei were imposed.
