More companies from Moldova to receive financing for digitalizing businesses

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - About 100 companies from Moldova will receive financing worth about 8.4 million lei, in order to improve or transform the business process by using digital technologies.
The money will be allocated through the Instrument of support as to digitalizing the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), financed from the state budget and supplied from funds of developments partners (European Union, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Moldova), the Organization for the Small- and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM) has reported.
The implementation of investment projects will generate investments in the economy amounting to about ten million lei. Forty six businesses will benefit from grants worth up to 200,000 lei each for the processes’ digitalization at the enterprise and another 53 – from Business Vouchers amounting to up to 20,000 lei each for accessing services of developing webpages and setting pages of the business’ socialization.
The instrument of support as to the digitalization of SMEs was launched in June 2020, in order to back the digital transformation and development of small- and medium enterprises, to turn to good account the innovative potential and facilitate the companies’ access to domestic and foreign markets. So far, 466 companies have been trained and 180 were financially supported through Grants and Business Vouchers.
The programme is financed from the state budget, supplied with funds of the European Union and GIZ Moldova, with the financial support of the government of Germany. The programme is implemented by ODIMM, in partnership with GoOnline and COR Association, Startup Moldova Programme, developed by the TEKWILL project, with the support United States Agency for International Development, Sweden and UK aid.
