World Bank Mission assesses progress of Moldova Education Reform project

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- A World Bank mission to Moldova is evaluating on 1-4 March the progress of the Education Reform in Moldova (PRIM) Project.
During the discussions with Minister of Education, Culture and Research Lilia Pogolșa, the sides approached issues on progress in implementation of activities provided by PRIM components, procurement of 10,000 units of computer units for remote education; endowment of chemistry, biology and physics laboratories of 160 educational institutions etc.
This week, a lot of working meetings of the World Bank mission team will take place with representatives of MECC, Education Reform in Moldova Project and Social Investment Fund of Moldova.
The last World Bank mission was held in October 2020.
PRIM is an investment loan, financed by the World Bank. The project is implemented in April 2013 - June 2020. Under PRIM, the following actions were planned: rehabilitation of the infrastructure of constituency schools and their endowment according to quality assurance standards, set by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research; implementation of a modern training system for school managers and teachers; modernization of the Management Information System in Education, which will help develop policies based on current and accurate information in education etc.
Due to the pandemic, some activities of the program have been transferred for 2021.
