Anti-COVID vaccination campaign starts in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- The vaccination campaign against the new coronavirus started today in the Republic of Moldova. The first doses arrived this morning at the Republican Clinical Hospital, and the first person immunized in the country was the head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit II, Alexandru Botizzato.
He told journalists that immunization was not painful and urged people to get vaccinated.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the first will be vaccinated doctors from intensive care and COVID departments. Subsequently, all employees in the medical system will benefit from the vaccine.
Last Saturday, the first 21,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, donated by Romania, reached Moldova. 10,800 doses will reach hospitals in the country in the coming days, and 1,800 doses will be sent to medical institutions on the left bank of the Dniester.
The management of MSMPS said that the monitoring of vaccination will be done through a platform, and the data will be reported to ANSP and MSMPS. In order to be vaccinated, people will need to have an identity card and no special training is required before administering the serum.
