Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii, other members of parliament participated in actions on Remembrance and Thanksgiving Day, today honoring veterans and commemorating those killed in the armed conflict on the Dniester.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the speaker took part in a solemn rally that took place at Grieving Mother Monument of Eternity Memorial Complex.
In her speech, Greceanii said that through the events, the tradition of honoring the memory of those killed in the armed conflict in 1992 is continued - the most painful episode in the modern history of our country.
"At the same time, today is the day when we can meet with veterans, to express gratitude we have a state, a flag, an anthem," she said.
Zinaida Greceanii pointed out that no one can change history, but anyone can learn from it, not to repeat mistakes that result in dramas and tragedies and to promote mutual understanding and respect.
Parliament has an important role in achieving conciliation policies, as it represents the will of all voters, with different visions. "Pluralism, legality and respect for each other are natural things in a democratic state, so simple and so efficient," she said.
