Moldovan deputy premier participates in meeting to commemorate victims of Transnistria War

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari participated in a ceremony on commemoration of the victims of the conflict at Dniester, held in the Cosnita village, eastern Dubasari district today. In 1992, dreadful fights were waged here for the defence of the unitary and indivisible state Moldova, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The event took place nearby the monument to the heroes who died for the defence of Moldova’s independence and territorial integrity, with the participation of representatives of the district and local public administration, Dubasari Police Inspectorate, Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission, war veterans, etc.
In her speech, Olga Cebotari stressed the sacred duty to remember all those who died as heroes on the battlefield, so that we can presently live in peace and can edify a better, peaceful and prosperous future. She also thanked all fighters who survived those tragic events and are with us at present, wishing them good health and strength of character.
Olga Cebotari emphasized the increased attention paid by the government to the measures of social protection of the war veterans; in this respect, the bureau for the relations with the veterans was set up and the monthly allocations were increased starting from 1 January 2021. These allocations are provided, no matter whether the concerned people benefit or not from pensions or other state allocations.
