Moldovan acting cabinet approves regulation on allowance for staff dead while fighting COVID-19

Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - The acting cabinet, at a today’s meeting, approved a regulation on the way of requesting and providing the one-off allowance to the staff dead while fighting COVID-19 at the public medical and sanitary institutions.
Under the government decision, the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS) and the competent public authorities, jointly with the public medical and sanitary institutions, will ensure the providing of the one-off allowance to the personnel dead while fighting COVID-19, under the regulation approved.
The one-off allowance is established for the staff dead while fighting the new-type coronavirus from the public medical and sanitary institutions, medical institutions/subdivisions subordinated to the Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, National Administration of Penitentiaries and the Intelligence and Security Service, who died starting from 17 March 2020.
The control over the carrying out of the present decision is entrusted with MSMPS, competent public authorities and the public medical and sanitary institutions.
The decision enters into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
Ninety one medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection in Moldova so far.
