Pfizer to give Moldova green light for reception of vaccine

Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Pfizer company will give Moldova green light for the reception of the vaccine and the first doses are supposed to be brought to Chisinau in the second half of March, through the COVAX platform. President Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect after a discussion with the Pfizer regional president, Sinan Atlig.
“I gave assurances that Moldova is prepared to receive and immunize the citizens with the Pfizer vaccine, which needs special conditions for preservation and carriage, at quite low temperatures. I was informed that Pfizer would give Moldova green light for the reception of the vaccine,’’ Sandu said.
The Moldovan had of state specified that the file with the acts necessary would be sent to Chisinau today and on 5 March, the company’s representatives will have a meeting with a team in charge of the immunization process from Chisinau.
“I also discussed with the Pfizer team the conditions of the vaccine’s reception, in the context of the donation on behalf of Romania, as well as about our interest to make our own procurements of vaccine,’’ the Moldovan president added.
