Moldovan parliament ratifies ILO Convention on occupational health services

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- MPs today ratified the International Labor Organization Convention on occupational health services.
Under the document, by ratifying the Convention, each state recognizes the relevance of international standards in occupational health services and is committed to formulate, implement and periodically review a coherent national policy in this direction.
ILO Convention obliges the member states to gradually develop occupational health services for all workers, both those employed in the private sector and those employed in the public sector, in all branches of the national economy.
The importance of the Convention lies in the mechanism for identifying and assessing health risks at work; supervision of factors in work environment, which could affect the health of employees; participation in the development of programs to improve practices and exchange information in the field; employee health surveillance.
