As many as 1,800 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 4,780 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,800 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which eight import ones. As many as 191,197 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 69 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 30, medical assistants –28 and auxiliary staff -11.

As many as 4,018 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 311 are in extremely serious condition (54 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 10,606 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 17,605 are under supervision at home.

Another 658 people have been treated. As many as 168,801 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 23 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,049 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a physician surgeon from the Institute of Mother and Child. Ninety two medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
