Anniversary exhibition by Moldovan fine artist inaugurated at National Art Museum

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition titled, Water Colour, Pastel, by fine artist Boris Poleacov, at the 85th birthday anniversary, has been recently inaugurated at the National Art Museum of Moldova.
The exhibition comprises 45 works of the museum’s funds and of the author’s creation workshop, made on the period 1968-2005.
The museum’s director, Tudor Zbarnea, said that Boris Poleacov had 29 works in the museum’s collections. This sector, water colour, is somehow in stagnation in Moldova. From the very beginning, he showed himself as a promising artist.
In the context, the head of the Moldovan Fine Artists’ Union, Dumitru Bolboceanu, said that Boris Poleacov was the artist who had left his imprint in the technique of water colour from Moldova. At the same time, painter Vasile Dohotaru said Poleacov was a strong expressionist, full of the Bessarabian colour.
Boris Poleacov was born in the Lelev village, Chernobyl region of Ukraine. In 1957, the future artist settled in Chisinau and in 1962, he finished the Ilia Repin Republican School of Fine Arts. In 1967, Poleacov became member of the Moldovan Fine Artists’ Union.
The development of water colour in Moldova is closely connected with the artistic activity of Boris Poleacov and his position of mentor.
The exhibition will be opened till 28 March.
