As many as 1,620 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 4,831 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,620 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which four import ones. As many as 194,605 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 81 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 24, medical assistants –36 and auxiliary staff -21.

As many as 5,106 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 329 are in extremely serious condition (65 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 11,468 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 17,762 are under supervision at home.

Another 845 people have been treated. As many as 170,468 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 20 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,091 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a 62-year-old medical assistant from the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital. Ninety four medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
