As many as 647 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 7 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2, 078 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 647 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which one import case. As many as 195,252 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 24 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 5, medical assistants –15 and auxiliary staff -4.

As many as 4,205 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 335 are in extremely serious condition (68 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 11,469 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 17,773 are under supervision at home.

Another 862 people have been treated. As many as 171,330 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 20 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,111 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a 54-year-old medical man who had worked as engineer at the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital.
