Moldovan authorities increased number of beds for COVID-19 patients in hospitals

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/- Given increasing number of new cases of COVID-19, including serious cases requiring hospitalization, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection / MSMPS / has ordered the expansion of the number of beds for patients with COVID-19 in several municipal and district hospitals.
According to MSMPS, in the last days 50 beds were filled at the Institute of Emergency Medicine, 20 beds - Straseni district hospital, 40 beds - Anenii Noi hospital and six beds -Mother and Child Institute. In the next few days, 40 beds will be activated in Hâncești and 20 in Călărași.
At the same time, MSMPS issued an order on ensuring the access of patients with COVID-19 to hospital health care, which provides for the intensification of patient testing measures, inclusion in treatment, conducting laboratory investigations, monitoring of patients undergoing treatment at home.
The MSMPS also reiterates the importance of complying with public health measures.
So far, 195,602 people with COVID-19 have been registered in Moldova, of which 4,129 have died.
