Moldovan president meets Ambassador of Northern Macedonia

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu spoke today with Ambassador of Northern Macedonia to Moldova residing in Bucharest Gabriel Atanasov. The issues were focused on development of bilateral relations, European integration of both states, as well as pandemic situation and providing vaccine, the presidential press service has reported.
"We talked about similar challenges we face globally this year, and the specific ones in the region. I pointed out that in last year's elections, the election of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova was anti-corruption and independent justice," Sandu said.
The president noted that Northern Macedonia is a country from which we can learn about modernization and advancement across Europe through a strong reform agenda. "Only in this way will we be able to raise the living standards of the citizens and build functional, European institutions - by carrying out real reforms at home", Maia Sandu said.
Gabriel Atanasov said his country was open for cooperation and exchange of experience with Moldova in various areas, such as judicial reform, fight against corruption, restore public confidence in law enforcement bodies.
