VAT refund period for farmers affected by natural disasters extended

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/- The State Tax Service (SFS) informed that following amendments to the legislation, the period of the VAT Reimbursement Program for farmers affected by natural disasters has been extended, starting with the month of lifting the state of emergency, declared by Parliament Decision of 17 March 2020 and until September 2021 inclusive.
According to the institution, for the VAT reimbursement period January-September 2021, farmers affected by natural disasters can benefit from VAT reimbursement if they have paid income tax, compulsory state social insurance contributions due by the employer, compulsory insurance premiums of medical assistance due by the employee for the fiscal period and / or the fiscal periods corresponding to the respective period.
Agricultural producers affected by natural disasters, in order to request a VAT refund for January-September 2021, must submit an application according to the model presented by the Regulation, to the General Directorate of Tax Administration post-operational fiscal control or General Directorate of Taxpayers, as appropriate. The application can also be sent to the e-mail address with the application of the electronic signature. The adjusted legal provisions give the affected agricultural producers the opportunity to benefit from the refund of VAT amounts, within the maximum threshold subject to reimbursement which includes taxes, duties and contributions calculated and paid related to wage payments and property tax for agricultural land.
The State Tax Service encourages taxpayers to take advantage of the opportunity set by law and to request a refund of the amount of VAT.
