About 0.2 per cent of Moldovan people vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/- A number of 7,367 employees of medical system or 0.2 per cent of Moldovan people was vaccinated against COVID-19.
Leadership of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection made the statement today.
So far, about 18,000 doses have been distributed in medical institutions in the country from the batches coming from Romania and COVAX platform. The data about each vaccinated person are entered in an online register, which also generates a vaccination certificate.
So far, 271 adverse effects have been registered among immunized people. Most are moderate reactions including fever, chills, weakness and pain.
MSMPS immunization specialist Ninel Revenco said that for now the immunization process cannot be accelerated due to the lack of vaccine doses, but at the end of this month, 21 thousand doses of AstraZeneca and several thousand doses of Pfizer are expected. Another 70,000 doses of vaccine will arrive in Moldova in April, when it will be possible to move to the second stage of immunization.
The MSMPS management announces that the situation on COVID-19 infection is alarming and urges the medical staff to be immunized and population to comply with the prevention measures.
