Sums due to be provided to indexation beneficiaries in 2021 start being paid in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Finance Ministry, starting from 9 March, initiated the payment of the indexed sums for the depositors of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank), which submitted applications on registration till the end of 2020.    

According to the institution, the people fitting the following age categories can take their money: the depositors born till 1991 inclusively, for the payment of the indexed sum related to the first stage; the depositors born till 1957 inclusively, for the payment of the indexed sum related to the second sage.

„The money can be raised at any office or agency at the Posta Moldovei (Moldova’s Post) State Enterprise. To benefit from indexation, the beneficiary, representative or heir will come with his/her identity act. The heir will additionally present the certificate of death and the copy legalized at the notary and the representative – the proxy, compiled in the way established by the legislation. In cases when money deposits were bequeathed to more heirs, the heir who demands the indexed sum which he/she is to be received, will submit the application for the calculation of the sum indexed for payment,’’ the Finance Ministry said.     

The depositors born before 1991 inclusively, who so far have failed to submit the applications for indexation, for various reasons, can do this at any office or agency of the Posta Moldovei state enterprise, by presenting the identity act and the savings books of the accounts opened till 1 January 1992.  

The payment of the sums indexed is made based on the law of the indexation of money deposits of citizens at Banca de Economii and the government decision from 3 March 2021. Seventy million lei was provided for in the 2021 state budget to this end.
