Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The political and epidemic situation in Moldova, the results of the visits abroad by Moldovan President Maia Sandu and the developments in the last months were the main subjects discussed by the head of state and the ambassadors of the European Union member countries accredited in Moldova at a videoconference today afternoon, the presidential press service has reported.
„I thanked the EU ambassadors for the support provided to Moldova by the EU member states and the European Union on the whole in combating the pandemic. This is a vital assistance, which will make us more resistant to the sanitary and economic crisis. In particular, I thanked for the fact that, due to Romania and, through the COVAX platform, the entire EU, we have managed to start the vaccination campaign,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
At the discussion, the head of state voiced hope that the European Union would increase the volume of assistance provided to Moldova within the next seven-year financial cycle, in order to help us modernize the country. ‘’The European ambassadors assured us that their countries would further stay with Moldova through post-crisis programmes and consolidation of institutions, as well as through projects due to make people’s living better,’’ Maia Sandu said.
